Emiliano "Dibu" Martínez is an Argentine professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Premier League club Aston Villa and the Argentina national team. Famous for his immense reflexes, penalty shootout heroics, and charismatic mind games, he is a cult hero and one of the world's top goalkeepers.
After years of patience at Arsenal, Martínez found incredible success at Aston Villa, becoming one of the most reliable shot-stoppers in the Premier League. His performances earned him the Yashin Trophy as the best goalkeeper in the world.
Martínez's legacy is cemented with the Argentina national team. He was instrumental in winning the Copa América and produced arguably the greatest save in World Cup history in the final moments of the 2022 final against France. He will undoubtedly be Argentina's guardian at the 2026 World Cup.
